Pastoral Care

Your Daughter's Pastoral Care Group

All students at St Mary's College are part of a Pastoral Care Class. This group meets every day with their Pastoral Care teacher for prayer, roll marking and to hear important messages. The Pastoral Care system is vertical, meaning students remain in the same Pastoral Care class for their six years of secondary schooling, with the same teacher. This teacher will come to know your daughter well, and be able to offer her tailored support.

Pastoral Care Classes are linked directly to House Groups. Many activities are held throughout the year to strengthen student's identity with their House and Pastoral Care group including House Celebrations, Choir Competition, Pastoral Care shared lunches and Mercy Week celebrations. The four House groups, Gorry, Horan, Murphy, and Whitty are named after significant people in our history and link to our Mercy heritage.
