Parent Involvement

At St Mary's College, we understand that educating our students is a partnership involving parents, students and teachers. We value communication between all parties, and encourage parents to be involved in their daughter's education.

Parents & Friends Association

St Mary's has an active Parents and Friends Association. The P&F hosts fundraising events throughout the year, investing money raised into services, supports and facilities for students and staff. Increasing parent involvement in the College community is also a priority for the P&F.

College Board

St Mary's College has an active, supportive and committed College Board. The Board meets each month and plays a vital role in supporting the Principal and the College; and providing feedback on policies and procedures.  The current Board consists of parent and staff representatives and Parish members.

Communication

Regular communication is maintained with all parents via the fortnightly College Newsletter. This is emailed to all families, and published on the Parent Portal.

Parent Information Evenings are held for various year levels at strategic times to assist with the transition from one phase to the next. As well, parents are invited to attend SET (Senior Education and Training) Plan interviews with their daughter in Year 10, to help consolidate planning for the senior years, and possible career options post schooling.

Parents are always welcome to contact their daughter's Pastoral Care Leader, or classroom teachers at any time.
